Truth about Eggs:

  • It is a myth that you should eat only the white of the egg, & throw out the yolks. In fact, the yolk is the healthiest part of the egg containing antioxidants, minerals, vitamins.
  • It contains calcium, iron, vitamin B6, B12, & also Vitamins A, D, E & K.
  • The egg white contains the protein, which is required for better assimilated along of the yolk.

 

Exercise

To improve balance:

  •  Stand on one leg for 30 seconds with eyes open, repeat with other leg.
  • Hold a support & while standing on one leg, swing the other leg forward & backward, 10 times each leg.
  • Jump on one leg 5 times, & repeat with the other leg.
  • Games like tennis & badminton help with co-ordination.
  • So does football & basketball.
  • Dancing, in any form improves balance.

 

Stress Management

The Sleep & Food connection:

  • When you're sleep deprived, your body overproduces the appetite-stimulating hormone ghrelin & under-produces the hormone leptin, which tells you when you're full.
  • Getting enough sleep makes you feel rested and full and keeps you from  unnecessary snacking.

 

Avoid Addictions

Limit Alcohol to Weekends:

  • Alcohol contains empty calories: a five-ounce glass of wine has 125 calories, a small bottle of beer about 153 calories.
  • Because our bodies don't use those calories well, they usually get converted directly into fat.
  • If you enjoy an occasional drink, consider a compromise.
  • Enjoy your favourite alcoholic beverage on weekends only.

 

Medical

Regular physical activity:  

  • Can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance.
  • Exercise and physical activity deliver oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and help your cardiovascular system work more efficiently and when your heart and lungs work more efficiently you have more energy to go
